TROPICAL CYCLONE WARNING

A GALE WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR VANUA LEVU, TAVEUNI AND NEARBY
SMALLER ISLANDS

A STRONG WIND WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR LAU AND LOMAIVITI GROUP
AND THE EASTERN PART OF VITI LEVU.

Situation: Tropical Cyclone Ella centre 985hpa Category 2 was located
near 14.4S 177.6W or about 300 km east-northeast of Cikobia or about
325 km east-northeast of Udu Point at 3am today.

The cyclone is
currently moving west-southwest at about 7 km/hr. Close to its
centre, the cyclone is estimated to have average winds of 95km/hr and
momentary gust to 130km/hr.On this track, the cyclone is expected to
be located about 110km north-northeast of cikobia or about 150km
northeast of Udu Point at midday tomorrow and about 100km north of
Cikobia or about 150km northeast of Udu point at midnight tomorrow.

A STRONG WIND WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR ALL FIJI WATERS.

Situation:
TROPICAL CYCLONE ELLA CENTRE 987HPA CATEGORY 2 WAS LOCATED NEAR 14
DECIMAL 3 SOUTH 177 DECIMAL 8 WEST OR ABOUT 280 KM NORTHEAST OF
CIKOBIA OR ABOUT 310 KM NORTHEAST OF UDU POINT AT 6AM THIS MORNING.
THE CYCLONE IS CURRENTLY MOVING WEST AT ABOUT 7 KM/HR. CLOSE TO ITS
CENTRE, THE CYCLONE IS ESTIMATED TO HAVE AVERAGE WINDS OF 95KM/HR AND
MOMENTARY GUST TO 130KM/HR. ON THIS TRACK, THE CYCLONE IS EXPECTED TO
BE LOCATED ABOUT 180KM NORTHEAST OF CIKOBIA OR ABOUT 220KM NORTHEAST
OF UDU POINT AT 6PM TODAY AND ABOUT 120KM NORTHEAST OF CIKOBIA OR
ABOUT 160KM NORTH-NORTHEAST OF UDU POINT AT 6AM TOMORROW.
