NADROGA flyer Apete Daveta scored a hat-trick of tries as his team defeated Malolo 38-27 at Lawaqa park yesterday in round six of the Skipper cup competition.

It was a game of two halves as Nadroga scored four tries all converted by Apisalome Waqatabu in the first half plus a penalty from the Macuata man while a lone try from Malolo’s Esala Ravouvou had the score line at 31-5 to Nadroga.

But Malolo came back strongly in the second spell to score four tries with only one converted and also gave them a vital bonus point which could put them on the safe zone as one of the top six teams in the competition.

Malolo prop Isoa Vasikilulu was the toast of his team as he made some rampaging runs through the thick Nadroga defensive lines but was met with some ferocious tackles from his opposite number Ratu Penijamini Makutu.

Nadroga skipper Sailosi Dawai led his troops well as the home team displayed some impressive display of running rugby in the first half but Malolo was not carried away as they replied with some never say die attitude in the second spell.

Nadroga team manager Pita Kadralevu was content with the result.
