STUDENTS of non-rugby playing schools are allowed to participate in the upcoming Fiji under-16 and U18 rugby team trials this weekend if they are given the green light by their respective zones.

Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Union (FSSRU) vice-president Biu Colati said the decision of their participation depended on the approval from their respective zones.

This is a zonal competition they have to come through their respective zones and it is going to be an inter-zonal trials and it is only for the teams who have gone down in the quarter-finals,” Colati said.

“But if it is allowed by the zones then yes they can come in. The entry point for all the players who want to come for the trials is to come through their zones.

“Those who have not qualified for the quarter-finals have the chance to come a showcase their skills and to represent Fiji. And we are encouraging the supporters to come in numbers,” Colati said.

He said it would be a very busy week for the FSSRU with the trials and the Coke Zero Deans semi-finals happening at the same time.

According to Colati the trials will be held at the Bidesi and Buckhurst Ground during the Coke Zero Deans competitions this Saturday.
