I fully agree with Savenaca Narube in your article titled ‘A tool of politics’ (FT 19/8) that the national budget is a political tool.

Which one isn’t?

The more immediate concern is how much government spends given the high tax and debt burden.

Who will repay the borrowing?

Who is to foot the bill?

I believe there is already massive unemployment and high prices (Tebbut Research).

Apparently there is a need to redistributive income from the rich to the people.

Workers continue to be marginalised with their unions.

So much disparity and inequality.

What is the effect of increasing the tax net?

Maybe to increase spending?

We need to generate full employment and stabilise prices for our people, especially youth with their dreams.
