INCOMPETENCY at several government ministries has been the cause of salary and contractual issues, says the Attorney-General and Minister for Civil Service, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.

He said this during the civil service reform consultations held in Ba yesterday.

Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said there were three main ministries whose human resources administrators were “weak”.

“In fact the ministries are Agriculture, Health and Education ministries and they are the three biggest ministries in terms of size and budgetary allocations,” he said. “We have highlighted that the system is not bad but the administration of the individual ministries is the problem.”
