Recurring negligence

SO when do you suggest that parents should take responsibility for their own children?

There are 24 hours in a day and six of them spent at school — Monday to Friday (excluding holidays).

Blaming the teachers for a parent’s negligence and lack of care is passing the buck, and makes excuses for their own apathy, laziness and ignorance. The role of teachers is constantly changing with an increase in workload and responsibilities.

Teachers are trained in education; not in the health fields. Even though they are expected to identify certain health issues — they are not experts.

Let the teachers teach, since they are the experts in education. If I, as an adult became sick, I would go to the local medical clinic, and not the local school.

When do nurses visit schools, since they are the experts in health?

How about teaching some of these parents how to parent their children effectively, since they gave birth to them? Are the parents taken to task for neglect if there are recurring cases?

A side note: A lot has changed in society, health and education since the ’60s and ’70s.
