FIJI Commissioner of Police Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho met his Vanuatu counterpart Acting Police Commissioner Robson Iavro to discuss various bilateral issues which both the Fiji and Vanuatu police could benefit from.

Police spokesman Inspector Josaia Weicavu said Mr Qiliho was accorded a guard of honour upon arrival at the police headquarters prior to the meeting.

“Brigadier General Qiliho mentioned his appreciation towards Vanuatu’s continuous assistance and support to Fiji while at the same time confirming Fiji’s continued assistance as well,” Insp Weicavu said.

He said Mr Qiliho also held discussions with the Minister for Internal Affairs Alfred Maoh and later with an executive member of the Melanesian Spearhead Group Secretariat (MSG) where he held discussions on MSG initiatives agreed to at the Leaders’ Summit.

Brigadier General Qiliho, he said, is accompanied by Fiji Police director international relations Ulaiasi Ravula, Joji Washington from the Ministry of Defence and Vilikesa Naivalucava from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“The delegation will also be visiting Honiara and Port Moresby before returning Fiji,” he said.
