Airline shows support

FIJI Airways has shown their support towards the Coca-Cola Games for the second consecutive year providing prizes for outstanding athletes.

The national carriers’ sales manager Fiji Christopher Dalton said the gift stems from their initiative to support youths in their endeavours.

“Just like last year Fiji Airways is proud to come on board with the 2016 Fiji finals. We not only sponsor golf and rugby but we are also trying to sponsor the youth of tomorrow in their athletic achievements,” he said.

He added that they hoped to be able to provide a boost for athletes to motivate them in whichever field they wish to take part in.

“Fiji Airways has always supported sports on a large volume as the national carrier for the company and supporting events at the professional level starts at the youth level and we would like to help the youth in their development of either soccer or rugby and so the track and field is obviously a start towards that and we want to award those who come out on top,” he said

The sponsored prizes include a return ticket to either Australia or New Zealand for the best overall boy and girl athlete as well as the winners of the boys and girls 100 metres. Best performing athletes in the sub junior grade will receive $300 worth of merchandise.
