“Stop chasing the money and start chasing the passion. All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them.” (Walt Disney).
One such rugged and courageous flyer who has been chasing the passion to be part of our team to Rio is Bua bullet and Nadroga’s “burning train” Savenaca Rawaca, whom 7s fans have relied on many occasions to save us from the doldrums.
As the 7s team heads to Paris and London, our speedstar and his witty side steps, aggressive defence, style of running and “pointing to the opponents” to scare the wits out of them, will be dearly missed.
I would have loved Save, our loyal servant and son serving Fiji rugby, to be part of this team which is earmarked to defend the 2014- 2015 series title we scooped in London last year and created history. I may be counting my chicks too early but trust me, this team has the qualities of a champion team. We have a champion coach, a champion manager and a champion trainer and gutty players who believe in winning. The 7s team led by our humble captain Osea Kolinisau, has shown a lot of determination and displayed positive attitude to remain number one on the series points table.
For this, I say a big vinaka vakalevu to Oscar and his band of ruthless warriors and I wish you all the best as you leave our shores for the big screen.
To the 7s team, remember the words of Albert Einstein, “Try not to become a person of success, but rather try to become a person of value as the starting point of all achievement is desire and success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day-in and day-out.” Boys, we will be with you, cheering you loud and very loud from the comforts of our living rooms. Just do your best in the remainder of the week before taking a shot at the Paris 7s title.
