$30k medical assistance

HILTON Organisation received a cheque for $30,000 from Vodafone Fiji at the Hilton Special School in Suva yesterday to help children with disabilities receive medical assistance.

Vodafone CEO Pradeep Lal said the organisation had a long-standing relationship with the school and was honoured to hand over the funds.

“We have always supported the school in the past with equipment, medical supplies and funding,” Mr Lal said.

“We are happy to present the school with the funding that would help children travel to Hawaii and receive medical treatment.

“This is part of our values and we are very happy to provide support in any way that we can.”

Hilton Organisation CEO Sureni Perera said the school was thankful for the support by Vodafone ATH Foundation and its stakeholders.

“The funds that you give support and help us and we use this as diligently as possible and we ensure this by selecting those most eligible to receive treatment,” Ms Perera said.

“The funds help us send children to Shriner’s Hospital for Children in Hawaii along with their parents and we fund their airfares, passports, visa fees and spending money.

“The children receive surgeries and medical intervention and can stay in Hawaii for up to six months.”

Ms Perera said the assistance helped lift the burden off the parents, who would only have to source funding for daily expenses and medication.

“Vodafone ATH has helped change the lives of children in Fiji that deserve it.”
