Update: 4:42PM SWIMMING’S Junior World Champion Gabrielle Fa’amausili of New Zealand will be one of the top contenders in the Oceania Swimming Championship next month.

Media Liaison Officer of the 2016 OSC, David Eyre said Fa’amausili has confirmed her participation for the event.

Fa’amausili is the current junior world champion in the 50m backstroke, having won the title at the FINA World Junior Championships in Singapore last year, a title she successfully defended having won two years earlier at the age of 13.

She also holds the New Zealand national record in the 50m backstroke with a time of 25.33 seconds.
