FIJI 7s speedster Savenaca Rawaca is still nursing an infection in his leg which could see him out of the Pacific Nations Cup.
The Bua man was injured during the Hong Kong 7s. Yesterday Vodafone Flying Fijians coach John McKee said Rawaca had not fully recovered.
“He came in for medical this morning and the infection in his leg is still not 100 per cent healed,” McKee said.
Rawaca was named by McKee in his 28-man squad and is also in Ben Ryan’s squad for the Rio Olympics preparation.
The Bua bullet is also on his road to make it to Saracens after Rio and McKee wants a 100 per cent Rawaca in his team.
“So he’s on light duties and we will consider what his role will be in the team for the rest of June,” McKee said.
Meanwhile, the Flying Fijians coach is happy that majority of the players named in the squad had joined camp.
“We’ve got a Test match this week and you know we’ve got a lot of work to get through in a few days but I’m very confident that we have hit the ground running already and looking forward to playing Tonga.”
