RFMF head reviews passing-out parade, urges cadets

STUDENTS of Ratu Kadavulevu School had their passing-out parade yesterday to conclude their strenuous cadet week training.

The school was packed with family members, former scholars and other high ranking officers of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) as they marched past their reviewing officer. The 974-member contingent was reviewed by the RFMF Commander Rear Admiral Viliame Naupoto.

In his address, the commander said the parade was also a special one for him because RKS was the first school to be reviewed by him as the commander of the RFMF.

“I congratulate all of you for an excellent parade and for having endured and completed your cadet training,” the commander said.

He thanked the RFMF personnel, principal and teachers for their efforts that enabled the cadets to reach the standards they had achieved.

“Cadet training has been around Fiji for the past 56 years.

“Cadet training is not meant to turn you into soldiers even though some of you might choose that as a career later on in life.

“Cadet training is meant to help instill some important virtues into you like discipline, respect, courage and teamwork,” he said.
