Bingo has been a great pastime for many of us.
I remember going to the convention centre in Lami to play bingo with the older folk. It was fun, and then we would all walk back to Wailekutu in the dark.
It’s been about four years now and they aren’t issuing licences. Imagine, bingo has been happening since our grandmother’s time and that was their only pastime then.
And now so many old folk just love their bingo evenings. Since the bingo stopped at the United Club, so many of the old regulars have passed away.
In Lautoka the older folk would gather at the church hall and socialise and play bingo. It was something to look forward to.
If you say they should look after the grandchildren — phalise, their time to look after children has gone by long ago, their children should be looking after the children
If someone says its gambling, what about the betting shops and the mobile phone text competition, aren’t they gambling?
Can someone tell us bingo enthusiasts why no licence has been issued, please?
Come on, someone tell us, or a whole lotta grannies led by yours truly will come your way with one small buturaki in mind.
