Update: 4:22PM PRIME Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has received a $156,580 donation from his Solomon Islands counterpart Manasseh Sogavare to assist victims of Severe Tropical Cyclone Winston.

Mr Bainimarama thanked the people and government of Solomon Islands for the donation and emphasised the importance of regional cooperation in rebuilding from natural disasters.

He said the generous assistance from the Solomon Islands was greatly appreciated by him and Fijians and would not be forgotten.

On the other hand, Mr Sogavare said it was in everyone’s interest to ensure that Fiji was supported in their time of need.
