We all have faith in coach Ben Ryan’s selection of his final 13 players for the Rio Olympic Games and I believe we are all happy that we have one hell of a fit Fijian sevens team who went through hell at the Sigatoka Sand Dunes.

Even the FBC online news predicted all the 13 names correctly, which just shows that the best players for the Rio gold mission have been picked on their current form, in line with coach Ryan’s game plan.

I fully support Timoci Gaunavinaka’s humble suggestion to FRU and Government to set aside a couple of thousand dollars as a goodwill compensation for the players in the 24-member training squad who missed out.

If our Fiji sevens team does win a medal in the Rio Olympics.

Those who did not make the cut also did the hard yards and they were instrumental in Ryan picking the best players for the game plan he has in mind.

I had suggested for the whole training squad to frame their group photos as a souvenir, but a goodwill compensation if the final sevens cut does win gold or any medal, would give them the message that they were part of the team and they are not forgotten.

Go Fiji, go.
