For almost the entire month of August 2016, the world will turn its focus to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil as the biggest global sporting and media event, as the Olympics 2016, gets underway.
For the rugby-mad Fijians at home and abroad, the consensus is that the world champion Fiji 7s team is the favourite to win an historic gold medal in the sport’s re-introduction to the Olympic arena.
Rohit Chand, the senior chef de partie at Yatule Resort & Spa, was inspired by the success of our home-grown 7s players on the global stage to develop a new menu that celebrates contemporary Fijian food by using:
nA traditional Fijian ingredient or dish with a modern presentation;
nHigh quality and fresh seasonal ingredients and Pan-Asian culinary influences to create a unique “fusion” flavour & style;
nA Western dish or style of cooking with local produce to create a Fiji-style, look, taste and feel
nGuests will be able to enjoy some of these mouth-watering culinary delights at a wine-tasting dinner on August 25.
In 7s rugby, both Fiji and New Zealand have shared a great rivalry over the years so it was only fitting that the resort partner up with Haha Wines of NZ for this event which was supported by their Fiji distributor, Victoria Wines. Tickets are limited so be sure to contact the resort directly to book your table.
