Indeed, it was spectacular to witness our sevens heroes competing in Rio for the first time.
With all teams leaving no stone unturned, our gladiators came back fighting in both the first two games in the Olympics.
It was the second game that stopped the nation as Argentina were leading 14-7 and I could feel the pressure in the surrounding, with all eyes glued to the TV and hoping for a miracle to happen, soft cheering from within toso Viti, toso even though it was cold, sweat started to drip from the forehead and then the moment we were all waiting for and praying for arrived with all feet standing and jumping and everyone hugging each other even though they don’t know each other and believe me when I say, they were just the pool games.
Our gladiators have given something to the people of Fiji that was not there before in the previous Olympics, and that is a chance and hope to win an Olympics medal. Talk about pressure … go for gold Fiji.
