Beyond description, mesmerising and too good to be true are some of the words one can find to describe the inconceivable electrifying performance of our 7s warriors and heroes in their Fiji gold quest in the rugby 7s Olympics final.
Against a team from Great Britain which was made up of professional players from England, Scotland and Ireland our players were unfazed, they dominated and ran riot over that great nation but our heroes bowed in respect, humbleness and humility to Princess Anne in honour as shown during their gold medal presentation.
You are all such an inspiration to our future potential Olympics.
I do hope World Rugby are paying attention to our small nation’s positive contribution on the spreading of the rugby gospel globally.
A great message indeed from our gold win, “never mind the lack of resources and monies” compared with the bigger nations with their many millions, a man has got to do what a man’s got to do with or without money as that is the Fijian way.
A great many thanks to those that contributed to the soli that made it possible for our 7s team and officials to travel in comfort and style business class Nadi/Rio/Nadi return.
It did the job contributing to the accomplishment of their mission.
It will be great to see Ben Ryan leave on a high note and go and work on his next challenge, but we can assume Chris Cracknel is up for the challenge as national rugby 7s coach as he had understudied Ben for their Rio mission and is just as good.
Let’s go Fiji
