21 elders of HART get free clinic

Twenty-one elderly residents of the Valelevu HART went through a free medical check at the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Medical Centre yesterday. One of the residents, Mahesh Prasad, 75, suffers from Parkinson’s disease.

He said the patients were well taken care of at the medical centre.

“We feel great and this is the first time I came here,” he said.

“The service provided is different from the Valelevu Health Centre.

“The doctors are friendly, the way they behave and talk to us and the children, regardless of our ethnicity.

“And they took good care of us.”

Valelevu HART staff matron Sereima Rabi said residents from the HART would visit the centre every year.

“We enjoy the service they provide to us, especially to the elderly,” she said.

“They are our main donor at the HART nursing home.

“Every year they won’t forget about the HART home. In every celebration we have, they would always think of the residents.

“They would donate food, clothes and during Diwali, they would provide transport for the elderly to visit Suva. These are things which the Sai Sanjeevani Medical Centre does for us and we are grateful for their help.”
