Grant: Special for the club to be playing in Fiji

Melbourne Storm hooker and captain Harry Grant says they have brought in a few recruitment officers over to Fiji.

The 25-year-old arrived in the country on Tuesday night alongside the players, coaches and management.

Grant said it was special for the club to be playing in Fiji.

“And hopefully the whole club soaks in the culture,” he said.

“We do have very strong Fijian ties within our club, so it is about soaking in the culture but also in the back of our mind we got a game to play.”

Grant said it was also exceptional for former and current Fijian players in the NRL to be rewarded with having a game played in their homeland.

“For sure, finally rewarded.

“And hopefully we brought in a few recruitment officers, we might find a few playing in the villages.

“You know it’s special for us at the club, we got Tui Kamikamica at the moment in our team and for us to connect to Tui and his culture it will be special and connecting with players who have played not only for the Melbourne Storm but in the NRL, it will be special for them.”
