Centre complements ministry’s service delivery

The Government has been working in close collaboration with organisations such as Almanah Hope Centre, says Assistant Women’s Minister Sashi Kiran.

Speaking at the Almanah Alumni Day on Friday, Ms Kiran said the centre complemented the ministry’s service delivery in areas such as promoting women’s economic empowerment and enhancing leadership skills.

“For Lifebread Stay Connected Foundation, the ministry has invested over $300,000 in the last five years with an additional commitment of over $78,000 for this current fiscal year to support the great work facilitated by the foundation for our women,” she said.

“The Almanah Hope Centre’s vision of giving hope to widows and women from rural communities and informal settlements in Fiji is not merely a statement, but a commitment to action.

“It is a commitment to providing access to education, skills and resources that enable individuals to break free from the chains of poverty and dependency, and to chart their path towards a brighter future.”

Ms Kiran said as they reflected on the impact of the centre’s capacity-building programs, they were reminded of the power of education and skills development in unlocking opportunities and creating sustainable livelihoods.

“The story shared by our alumni today serves as a testament to the transformative power of empowerment and the importance of investing in human potential.”
