Divisional Police Commander West SSP Iakobo Vaisewa has called on officers to step up or resign if they cannot cope with the demands of policing.
SSP Vaisewa issued the warning at the end of the fourth quarter divisional parade last week addressing officers based in Rakiraki to Sigatoka.
SSP Vaisewa told the officers under his command to mitigate complaints by ensuring strict compliance with processes and procedures.
He reminded them to treat every report with the same level of importance and provide proper advice when needed.
“No report should be treated lightly, and proper advice should be given to the complainant, so they leave satisfied,” SSP Vaisewa said.
He also reiterated the Acting Commissioner’s zero-tolerance policy on officers involved in criminal activities, adding any officer found to be using their uniform for personal gain through illegal means would be dealt with accordingly.
