Floodwaters have entered parts of the Rakiraki town area in the past 30 minutes for the second time today.

Earlier today, the Rakiraki River had burst its banks that resulted in flooding.

Floodwaters receded after that, however, heavy in the past hour has seen a re-occurrence of flooding.

The market and majority of the shops have closed for the day.
