Grants to higher education institutions have been reduced by $34.2 million in the 2020-2021 National Budget, with the Fiji National University getting the biggest cut.

The higher education institutions were allocated $115.6m in 2019-2020 and have been given $81.4m in this fiscal year.

FNU will receive $49m in the 2020-2021 fiscal year compared with $56m in the 2019-2020 National Budget.

The University of the South Pacific will receive $5m lesser.

It was given $32m in the previous fiscal year and has been allocated $27m this time.

The Centre for Appropriate Technology Development will receive $572,646; Corpus Christi will get $105,062; Fulton Adventist University College has been allocated $121,773; Montfort Boys Town will get $572,579; Sangam Institute of Technology has been allocated $140,392; and Vivekananda Technical Centre will get $146,873 under the 2020-2021 National Budget.
