Ministry of Economy permanent secretary Shiri Gounder has been appointed as one of Fiji Airway’s board directors.

This was revealed by the national airline chief executive officer and managing director Andre Viljoen during the revised 2021/2022 National Budget consultations in Nadi.

In a Government statement, Mr Gounder took up the role of PS following the resignation of former PS Makareta Konrote last year.

Prior to joining the civil service, he was attached to the Reserve Bank of Fiji as an economist.
