Over 5000 people took part in the 2022 Sangam Convention in Lautoka over the long weekend.

The opening was on Good Friday with a float procession through Lautoka Town.

The interim chairman of Sangam Fiji Parveen Kumar said the convention was being held after two years.

“While we are moving forward as is the rest of the world, let us not forget those who have lost loved ones to this terrible pandemic,” he said.

“As we move away from medical mandate to personal responsibility, let us continue to practise safe hygiene and protocols to stop or eradicate the spread of this unforgiving virus.”

Teams around Fiji took part in soccer, netball and volleyball competitions over the four days.
