RELIGIOUS teachings should be used in all ethnic dominations to fight the drug pandemic in the country, said Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations Agni Deo Singh.

He made the comments while speaking at the 2024 Arya Samaj Convention at the DAV College in Ba yesterday.

“We are seeing every day reports on drug and substance abuse – it’s just too high,” Mr Singh said.

“Our primary and secondary school kids are also now involved by people who are self-centered.

“If we are to build an educational society, we have to find ways to get rid of this illness that is plaguing us now. Every religious group and parents have to get together with government to fight this.”

Mr Singh urged all schools that fall under Arya Sabha to take the lead in educating children on the dangers of drug use.
