Fiji Corrections Service (FCS) is awaiting word from Cabinet on five Cabinet Papers it has submitted this year, said Commissioner of Corrections, Dr. Jalesi Nakarawa.

The five Cabinet Papers are:

• Establishment of a drug detention center.
• Commercialization of prison industries.
• Establishment of the Rakiraki Correctional Centre.
• Signing of an MOU between HM Prison Tonga and the Fiji Corrections Service.
• Realignment of non-parole periods.

“As we prepare for 2025, greater emphasis will be placed on coordination, collaboration, and communication at all levels,” said Commissioner Nakarawa.

He said these efforts will be to foster trust, honesty, and accountability, enhance service delivery and address new challenges with resilience and innovation.
