A heavy rain warning is now in force for Yasawa and Mamanuca group, Northern division and whole of Viti Levu.
Fiji Meteorological Service states in its 10:30am special bulletin an active trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain affects the Northern, Western and Eastern parts of Fiji.
“It is expected to gradually spread to the rest of the country by tonight,” said Fiji Met.
The forecast for Yasawa and Mamanuca group, Northern division and whole of Viti Levu is for occasional to periods of rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms.
“Showers becoming frequent and increasing to rain from tonight”.
Possible impacts include flash flooding of some low-lying areas, informal settlements, small streams and iris crossing leading to disruption to traffic flow.
A heavy rain alert is now in force for rest of the Fiji group.
