“We head to the Supreme Court shortly” – DPM Manoa Kamikamica

Deputy Prime Minister, Manoa Kamikamica has declared the “battle has just begun” after the defeat of the Constitution Amendment Bill 2025.

The Bill was lost on the Parliament floor by just one vote and failed to meet the 75 percent threshold.

“My conviction to change the imposed 2013 Constitution is even stronger now and the events of yesterday simply reaffirms the obvious, there was never an intent to change the Constitution by the FFG (Fiji First),” said Mr Kamikamica in a social media post.

“They may have won the war yesterday, but the battle has just begun.”

“We will do everything on our power to change this one-man conceived document.”

“We head to the Supreme Court shortly.”

Mr Kamikamica said, “this is a defining moment in our history and any hope for Unity in Fiji must start with a review of 2013 Constitution.”
