THE case concerning Carpenters Fiji Managing Director Daniel Whippy and former National Fire Authority (NFA) Board Chair John O’Connor will reappear for a pretrial conference on October 7.
The matter was called yesterday before Magistrate Sufia Hamza at the lower court in Suva to check on whether Mr Whippy complied with his bail orders.
Mr Whippy is charged with one count of counselling for the omission of the offence.
It is alleged that Mr Whippy, as Director of W.R. Carpenters (South Pacific) PTE Limited, counselled Mr O’Connor to amend the findings of an April 30, 2018, fire investigation report.
Appearing for prosecution was Junior State Lawyer Joshua Francis Prasad.
Both men are currently on bail.
