Three police officers charged with assault has had their case deferred to the 29th of this month by the Suva Magistrate’s Court.

Eroni Matanikoroca, Elia Sioweli and Moape Tau Tikomailepanoni are alleged to have assaulted two youths — aged 16 and 19 — who were travelling in a van that was reported to be playing loud music.

The officers escorted the duo to the Market Police Post where they were searched and allegedly assaulted.

In their previous appearance, the prosecution had requested between 14 to 21 days for an attempt at reconciliation.

Bail was extended.
