SUVA judge Justice Thushara Rajasinghe is not ready to deliver judgment on three suspended police officers charged with manslaughter.

Maciu Vakaturaga, Isireli Raseisei and Joshua Bull had appeared to receive judgment, however, Justice Rajasinghe informed the court a few more weeks was needed before a judgment could be made.

The trio are alleged to have caused the death of Mikaele Tikoivalenibula in February 2022.

It is alleged the men assaulted Tikoivalenibula, causing his death.

It is also alleged the three policemen assaulted the victim at different times while he was in a cell at Samabula Police Station.

The charges were sanctioned by the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Mr Vakaturaga and Mr Bull are represented by Shirley Tivao while Joji Cakau is representing Mr Raseisei.

Bail for the men has been extended.
