Koronubu Sanatan Primary School’s mixed girls’ team stunned spectators by defeating Rarawai FSC Primary School 4-1 in the Ba Primary School Rugby finals held last week at the AD Patel College ground.

As the only Indo-Fijian school participating in the two-day competition, Koronubu fielded five teams, four of which advanced to the finals.

This year marks the school’s second appearance in the Ba Primary School Rugby competition, having debuted last year with two teams.

In the finals, Koronubu’s mixed girls’ team, mixed boys’ team, Indo boys’ team, and U10 girls’ team all showcased impressive performances.

The mixed girls’ team delivered a superb display of tag rugby, combining strong attacking play with skillful execution that left their opponents guessing.

Leading 3-1 at halftime, they secured their victory by extending the lead to 4-1 by the end of the match.

Teacher in charge Krishneel Kumar acknowledged parents’ support.

“Our parents played a huge role to these kids, they gave boots to these young players, they prepared lunch, and we thank them for their contribution.

” It was our parents that made everything possible for us,” Kumar said.
