THE Swire Shipping Fijian Drua 7s and Fiji Airways national men’s teams engaged in a thrilling series of practice matches at the Drua ground in Nadi yesterday.

The two teams played four rounds of seven-minute matches, with the national 7s squad securing victory in each game, showcasing their dominance with scores of 14-0, 14-5, 14-5, and 12-5.

Drua head coach Glen Jackson expressed gratitude for the opportunity, saying: “We thank Osea Kolinisau for bringing his boys to play against our young players.

“We’re obviously in a development and preseason phase, and a lot of these boys don’t get much rugby time. It was awesome to have a good hit out,” Jackson said.

Fiji Airways 7s head coach Osea Kolinisau echoed Jackson’s sentiment on the importance of the training matches.

“We knew they’d be very physical in the breakdowns, which was different from what we face in regular training,” he said.
