Raibevu joins Drua Academy

Queen Victoria School’s Under-16 fly-half, Jone Raibevu, has been selected to join the Fijian Drua’s Inaugural Academy, making him one of the standout picks from the Fiji Secondary School Rugby competition.

Raibevu, the son of Fiji netball mid-court player Alesi Waqa, showcased his exceptional kicking skills during the recent Super Vodafone Deans competition, which concluded last week.

One of the highlights of his performance was a remarkable 57-meter penalty kick, demonstrating his potential and skill on the field.

Raibevu’s mother, Alesi Waqa Paul, expressed her joy and pride over her son’s selection to the Drua Academy through a heartfelt post on Facebook.

His uncle, Emori Waqa, was a former member of the winning QVS U18 team in 2012, where he played in the fly-half position. Emori is currently playing rugby in France.

Drua Academy players will be invited to several camps throughout the year at the Drua headquarters utilising the Club’s facilities and accessing the best coaching and support resources, receiving specialised training and development programmes.

The Fijian Drua officials will keep a close eye on their progress as they play in the various school’s competitions.
