A new Vodafone Cup winner will be crowned this year after the last year’s champion, Saru Dragons, were eliminated from the semi-finals.

Navy Albatross pulled off an upset against Saru Dragons, winning 27-18 in the last quarter-final match at Lawaqa Park over the weekend.

In other quarter-final results, Vusu Raiders defeated Topline Warriors 30-20, Waitaci Titans narrowly beat Nadera Panthers 32-28, and Ravoravo Rabbitohs triumphed over Laselase Cowboys 24-18.

Vusu Raiders team manager Solomoni Tuqiri believes it will not be an easy battle.

“The semi-final stage is different and we will go back and regroup and come back stronger in the semi- final against Ravoravo Rabbitohs,” Tuqiri said

In the semi-final matchups this week Vusu Raiders will meet Ravoravo Rabbitohs and second semi-final will see Navy play Waitaci Titans.
