Drua injury-free, ready for crucial clash

The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua side heads into the Brumbies match with a major advantage, an injury-free squad.

The coach confirmed that all players are fit and available for selection, a testament to the team’s effective rotation strategy over the first four rounds.

“We’re pretty good. Everyone on the squad is essentially available for selection,” he said.

The rotation policy has played a crucial role in keeping players fresh while also creating healthy competition for spots.

“We’ve been the club that has probably rotated the most. What it’s done now is created what you’d hope for as a head coach, selection dilemmas around who’s playing well, who’s put their hand up, and around the freshness of our squad,” he explained.

With a demanding schedule ahead, including a match against the Force just eight days after the Brumbies game, the coaching staff is carefully managing player workload.

“For a six-day turnaround, I think it’s important that we try and get the selection right. But then also, we’ve got the Force eight days later. So, it’s an interesting road trip that we’ve got now,” he said.

The squad’s depth and understanding of the rotation system have put them in a strong position to tackle this stretch of fixtures.
