Four schools from the North have signed up for the Crime Stoppers Scholastic Program.
The Fiji Police Force recently welcomed Holy Cross College, South Taveuni Secondary School, Bucalevu Secondary School and Niusawa Methodist School into the program this year.
According to the Fiji Police Force, the program was introduced in 2005 and has encouraged students to be law abiding citizens.
The Police Force highlighted that the students with their respective scholastic board have created a safe and crime free learning environment since the program was introduced.
The program is aimed at empowering students in understanding their own roles and responsibilities within their learning environment,” the Fiji Police Force said.
“By fostering ownership, students will work together to protect the image and reputation of their school, family name and community – by keeping each other in check.”
The Fiji Police Force thanked the Fiji Corrections Service for accepting the invitation to launch the program as it gives students an insight at the importance of collaborative efforts toward a common good.
