THE Methodist Church of Fiji senior church members converged at the Lami Parish ground to pay their last dignified respects to a man they said played a great role in bringing the Kingdom of God to the people.

The interim president Reverend Laisiasa Ratabacaca and other church ministers and women were among the many who gathered to bid their last respects to the late Archbishop Emeritus Petero Mataca yesterday.

Methodist Church secretary for communication Reverend James Bhagwan said representatives of clergy and lay members in the Methodist Church from the 14 divisions of the 56 divisions in the Methodist Church paid their traditional respects at the reguregu.

“Our gathering this afternoon is an expression of our love and the reciprocity that takes place in such a traditional gathering is very powerful,” Mr Bhagwan said.
