Take ownership of your work, Seruiratu tells workers

AGRICULTURE Minister Lieutenant Colonel Inia Seruiratu reminded the Agriculture Ministry staff members to take ownership of their work and move the ministry forward through positive attitude and teamwork. Staff members were glad to have their minister back and also welcomed Assistant Minister Commander Joeli Cawaki at the ministry’s head office in Suva.

Lt-Col Seruiratu said they were both grateful to be part of a ministry that impacted the lives of many in the country.

“We are quite familiar with the work in the ministry and its time to build and take the ministry forward to the next level so that we can make a significant impact in the lives of ordinary Fijians importantly contributing to GDP,” Lt-Col Seruiratu said.

“We need to put aside our differences and take the ministry forward to another level.

“The journey to building a better Fiji has started already and the election was just part of the process. We need to take ownership and there is a lot of work that needs to be done and I will demand the best out of everybody in the ministry. “

He reminded leaders in the ministry that great leaders were those who serve the people and it was important for ministry staff members to develop the right attitude.

“We have big plans in the ministry and I have mentioned that we will start with the strategic shift as we need to relook at the structure of the ministry.

“We need to work together as a team and we will modernise the agriculture sector through teamwork and change.”
