Update: 10:50AM AS expected, Tropical Depression 11F has developed into a Tropical Cyclone and has been christened Pam.

The Fiji Meteorological Service says while Tropical Cyclone Pam poses no direct threat to the country, there will be no escaping heavy showers and some strong winds associated with the system.

People living near waterways in Rotuma and the Western Division are being urged to take heed of warnings issued by the Nadi Weather Office.
