SMALL and medium accommodation as well as tour and transport operators are educating themselves on ways to boost their businesses’ online presence.
This learning took place at a one-day workshop this week organised by the South Pacific Tourism Organisation.
The e-Marketing Support for Tourism SMEs — Tour and Activity Operators training was also expected to be rolled out to 16 Pacific Islands.
According to the trainer Rob Shortland from the WHL Group, e-marketing significantly increased the visibility of small accommodation and activity operator, previously limited to traditional modes of advertising.
Assistant Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism Lorna Eden said the pilot project was implemented by the European Union’s Pacific Regional Tourism Capacity Building Programme through the SPTO.
