Update: 6:47PM REPRESENTATIVES from 15 Pacific Island meteorological offices are engaged in a historic workshop at the Novotel Nadi designed to improve communication skills.
Molly Powers-Tora, regional officer, Climate and Oceans Support Program at the Secretariat of the Pacific Community, said the workshop was the first of its kind in the world.
The weather observers are also sharing experiences on how they disseminate information to communities and other sectors of government in preparation for events like drought, inundation, El Nino or La Nina.
