FIJI’S attractiveness as a holiday destination for Asian holiday-seekers was boosted last week at the Taiwan Travel Fair, where more than 300,000 people came through the gates during the four-day event.
Tour Managers Fiji partnered with Tourism Fiji and The Pearl Resort Fiji to showcase what Fiji had to offer at the fair.
Tour Managers Fiji managing director Damend Goundar said the Taiwan outbound market was a disciplined group which was ideal for Fiji as a holiday destination.
“It is similar to that of Japan and, if properly developed, it will provide Fiji with a well-balanced outbound source market that will appreciate and understand what destination Fiji is able to provide,” he said.
The Fiji tourism reps shared what Fiji had to offer to Taiwanese travellers who were looking for unique holiday experiences and also the opportunities available to senior citizens who were not time-starved and able to enjoy longer stays.
Mr Goundar said Tour Managers Fiji worked hard over the past two years to build intensity in the Taiwan market.
More than 500 people visited the Fiji booth at the fair seeking more information about the country and some committed to further consultations with EZ Travel for Fiji.
