A SINKHOLE has been discovered on the Queens Rd between Lomawai Rd and Uciwai Rd, Nadi.

Fiji Roads Authority CEO Jonathan Moore said as a result of the hazard, the thoroughfare has been reduced to a single lane until further notice.

“The carriageway has been reduced to single lane for the safety of the travelling public, until a proper assessment is carried out by FRA engineers,” he said.

Mr Moore said FRA regretted the inconvenience and advised the public, especially motorists, to be courteous and obey all traffic directions. He said another update would be provided once the assessment had been undertaken. The sinkhole on the Queens Rd was located midway between the Lomawai Rd, which leads to Momi Bay, and Uciwai Rd, which leads to Rendezvous Hotel, or about 13.4 km from the Nadi Town temple roundabout.
