AMID calls for municipal elections, Local Government Minister Premila Kumar has revealed a preference for younger chief executive officers.

She said plans to revamp municipal councils included the advertising of all CEO jobs soon.

Mrs Kumar had also questioned the need to have elected councillors to administer three primary roles – organise waste collection, process building permits and administer the cleaning of drains.
