Eric Wise, who uses the stage name Ewhyzz, is one of the 10 finalists vying for the $5000 grand final prize courtesy of Westpac at the 2023 Domo Vou Talei original song contest.
The 18-year-old International Secondary School Nadi student rap artist hopes his track “Mix 50” which will soon be dropped on FM96 and Legend FM will have what it takes to secure the top prize at the Woodstock Uprising Music Festival come October 7.
Ewhyzz could also pick up the $3000 People’s Choice Award courtesy of The Fiji Times or the $1000 Best Performance Award courtesy of Kaila!
Ewhyzz said he draws his inspiration from personal experiences and also from artists such as Australian rapper Lisi and American rapper Kota The Friend.
He lists his favourite artists as United States rapper Joyner Lucas and Brooklyn drill artist Sleepy Hollow.

The 10 finalists are being vocally prepared by award-winning artist Sunia Soko Loga, their original songs will be produced by legendary producer Phil Dakei, and they will have their music videos shot by Dave ‘Mr Grin’ Lavaki.
