A LEADING Australian wine brand has been ranked one of top 20 most awarded wineries globally by the World Association of Wine Writers and Journalists.
And it’s not just any wine, family-owned Taylors wines have been the world’s most awarded winery with the world’s most awarded wine.
Taylor wines managing director Mitchell Taylor said the company was proud of the accomplishment.
“We are incredibly proud to be the world’s most awarded winery with the world’s most awarded wine.
“Since the beginning we’ve sought to make wines that can take on the best in the world,” he said.
“We see wine competitions as an important way to benchmark ourselves. Australia produces some of the world’s most incredible wines and recent success in global competitions proves this.
“It’s an exciting result for our family, our winemaking team, the Clare Valley wine region and Australian wine as an industry.”
Taylors wines was also recognised for the most awarded wines in the varietal categories for chardonnay, merlot and shiraz.
Motibhai Group, who distributes the world-renowned wine in the country, commended the wine company on the recognition.
Executive director Bhupendra Patel said the entire management and staff of Motibhai Group congratulated Taylors wines on the milestone achievement.
‘We are indeed proud to be in partnership with Taylors wines over the years and it will be a pleasure to share this exciting news with our customers and business stakeholders,” Mr Patel said.
Founded in 1996, the WAWWJ consists of 13,500 wine journalists, bloggers and judges representing 80 different countries across the globe.
The prestigious industry body combines the results of the most recognised international wine shows to rank the world’s most successful wineries.
